CoreAccess Hardware Field Equipment

Overview

The CoreAccess solution is fully integrated with a number of market leading hardware devices for Access Control. Intelligent hardware terminals support all current reading methods including biometrics, proximity cards, swipe cards and pin codes. It combines a comprehensive Access Control Management system, including ID Production and Alarm Management, with leading edge Access Control Hardware from companies such as Kaba, LG, Bioscrypt, Adesco and Sagem Sécurité.

Communication

Communication with the hardware is automated and occurs transparently in the background. It operates continuously and no scheduled batch jobs are required. CoreAccess implements an event-driven architecture, thus access rights come into effect at the terminals as soon as they are changed. By the same token bookings and other transactions from the terminals are typically saved in the Oracle database within seconds also.

Resilience

The CoreAccess components are fault-tolerant at every level. All Kaba terminal models buffer the recorded transactions when the network or serial connection is down and automatically transmits them to the server when connectivity is re-established. All terminal models include battery backup to retain recording and configuration data during a power failure. They can also enforce access rights, time zones and PIN codes, even when operating stand-alone.

Kaba Hardware

The Bedanet 92 90 Access Control Manager has a large amount of memory due to its high-performance CPU. It can store more than 50,000 master records and more than 100,000 booking records. In addition CoreAccess has the ability to provide Avisio routines for the Kaba Hardware to provide for control point functionality including extended opening, interlocking doors etc.
