Biometrics and Smart Cards

Overview

CoreAccess supports both smart cards and biometric technologies. The solution is not card technology specific and can work with Legic, Mifare, iClass, DESFire, HID and Hitag technologies. The solution also supports multiple biometric options including fingerprint, hand geometry, iris scan or vein recognition. The solution also facilitates the use of a mix of technologies across the site e.g. Low Security Control Points using Smart Card Readers, Medium Security Control Points using a combination of Smart Card and PIN Numbers and High Security Control Points using Biometrics.

Multiple Application Smart Cards

The ability to use a smart card for a number of separate applications presents new opportunities for organisations. Emerging technologies such as the Java Card enable multiple independent applications to be stored within one card. This enables organisations to provide a single card for Access Control, Time & Attendance, Cashless Payments and PC Log-On.

CoreAccess supports the use of single-sign on and can offer biometric or smart card readers for PC logon.

Credential Enrolment

CoreAccess provides for credential enrolment whether it be Smart Card or Biometric. Encoding capabilities can be provided for Smart Cards enabling organisations to have full ownership of the Card Encoding. In addition our self service enrolment station allows Card Holders to test the card and select PINs and reminders where required. The enrolment user interface ensures a simple, accurate enrolment process.
